Office Complex Gets a Look From Real Estate Professionals
Hendersonville Mayor Scott Foster had four minutes to convey the advantages of locating business offices in the city last week as more than 100 members of a national organization representing professionals in industrial, office and mixed-use commercial real estate came to town. According to Foster, the visit sponsored by the Nashville Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), gave the city a chance to lure new business to the area. Three bus loads of real estate professionals made a brief stop at the new 50,000 square foot office complex now under construction in Indian Lake Village.

Upscale Apartment Complex Approved
The 300-unit apartment complex that is a part of the Indian Lake Village development off Indian Lake Boulevard is closer to realty as planning commissioners have given their blessing to final plans for the complex and greenway system that accompanies it. The Hendersonville Area Regional Planning Commission approved the final plans at its meeting last week. According to Planning Commission Chair Bob Freudenthal, the apartments, which were previously approved by the commission, are planned to be high end.

Suburbanites Work Closer to Home
When Hendersonville resident Eric Jackson worked in downtown Nashville, he rushed home to make it to his daughter's activities, spending at least 30 minutes both ways behind the wheel. Since 2003, when Jackson opened his own information technology firm in Hendersonville, his hour-and-a-half commute "on a bad day" has shrunk to 10 minutes. His experience is becoming more common, as a greater share of suburban county residents are working close to home instead of commuting into Nashville.
